Growing Chocolate

I received a cherry tomato plant from a friend this spring which is suppose to produce chocolate colored tomatoes.  It was so tiny when I planted it.
Now, it has tomatoes.  The color is starting to show.  I can't wait to actually eat one.

  1. Don't you just love all the tomato varieties -- I think our Farmer's Market sells the chocolate kind -- it's a funny brown colored tomato?

But it's good (if it's the same one!)

  2. Dear Sherlock Street, How intriguing this tomato is. I have yet to convince myself that the yellow variety of tomato would be good to try, so a chocolate one.....definitely not sure.

  3. Good morning!
Just wanted to let you know that the little chocolate tomatoes are so good! That was my early breakfast this morning while I was cutting okra and picking tomatoes. Every little bit I would pick a little chocolate off the vine and eat it. :)
    Have a great week!

This is the first time I've grown them or eaten them. Yum-O.

I know it is odd. Tomatoes should be red but it fun to try new things.

I can just see you puttering around the garden popping little tomatoes for breakfast. How cute! Sounds like a nice way to start the day.
