1st Blog Anniversary

Today is the 1st Blog Anniversary of Garden on Sherlock Street!

Why did I start GonSS?
I want to share my garden.

I didn't have a grand plan when I wrote the first post.  I figured the blog would grow with the garden.

While I've always known gardeners are great people, I was surprised by just how friendly blogging gardeners are.

It's a real treat each time you leave a comment.  I love visiting your garden blog too.  I enjoy your photos and learn so much about gardening from you.  Thank you for welcoming GonSS to the online world.  My wonderful husband, when he realized I had been blogging for almost a year, asked me if I was still having fun.  I said, "Yes!"

I hope you like the new look.
Enjoy some cake!

  1. Happy Anniversary! I enjoy visiting over's to another great year. Gardener's are just the greatest.

  2. Happy Blogiversary to you!! It's been a joy getting to know you and learn about your garden.

  3. Well, a great big Happy Blogoversary to you!

  4. Happy Blog anniversary. I'm so glad to have found U and UR gardening and can't wait to learn and view all of the splendors in the garden. Hugs.

  5. Time flies doesn't it?? Happy anniversary!!

  6. Happy one year anniversary! I was just looking at your previous post and your plans. You are so organized and I'm sure your well thought out garden will save you both time and money. I enjoy your blog!!

  7. Happy Blog Anniversary! I've been at it 2 and a half years, and am still having fun, even though I am constantly behind. There are so many blogs I love, But I just can't read their every post, even though I'd like to.

I like the clean look of your blog.

  8. Happy anniversary!! Isn't this blogging world a wonder? I got such a delight from your record keeping system in the last post. The landscape maps are so essential; I have to figure out how to do maps like yours for my gardens. It was great that you could take a course to show you how.

Your plastic folders with plant tags are great too... the tags get so lost otherwise! When you start to computerize all your well-kept info, try just creating a separate blog of them, since you're a pro blogger already. Here's my blog inventory as an example:

I do a separate undated post for each plant profile, and the category tags make it all searchable. It's great to have pictures of each plant over time.

You're so organized, this just might work for you. Happy Year One.

  9. Happy 1st Blogaversary! I enjoyed learning about your garden and how different parts of it came to be. I've also learned quite a bit from you. Blogging really opens up a whole new world.

  10. Congratulations. What an accomplishment! Happy Blogaversary.

  11. Congratulations!!!! Let us all eat cake, especially the virtual kind. Your new blog format is beautiful.~~Dee
