Tulips 'Jimmy" II

I posted about the 'Jimmy' tulips in the side garden when they started their show.  The color is faded a bit, but they are still beautiful despite being rained on for a few days and having the wind blow them around Saturday.  This is their more pastel version.  Perfect timing for Easter Sunday.

  4. Those are absolutely beautiful!!! Where did you get them? How many did you plant, and is this their first year or are they returning from year to year? I'm in awe!

  6. Looking back to your earlier entry, I actually think I prefer their softer colors after they've faded somewhat. In general, I lean towards buying heirloom varieties, but I think I'm going to make an exception in this case.

    1. I dug out the label on these tulips. They are Truimph Type from the Netherland Bulb Co. I purchased them at a local greenhouse where you can pick out the bulbs you want from the bin. I seriously think I planted just 6 a number of years ago as I have only 6 little marks on my bulb map. They have performed well every year multiplying each year.

    2. Wow, that's truly an impressive return and multiplication for tulips in Kansas, if that's the case! I definitely think I want to find some of these. Thanks so much for chasing that down for me!

  10. Gorgeous display. I love these tulips and remember when you first posted them. They have a such a nice color. I can't wait to see how your garden fills out this summer with the earlier start. I just came back from out of the country and it's nice to have internet connection again.
