This is a new to me plant that came home from an afternoon of greenhouse hopping I did in April.
Dichondra 'Silver Falls'
The little leaves make these cute cups. It is suppose to love the heat and be drought tolerant. It is not hardy for our area. So, I will be trying to overwinter it in the house.
In the mean time, I'm waiting for it to cascade out of this container with the sweet potato vine.

Hi, I love the silver falls plant...have never seen one like that. I also use alot of sweet potato vine as spillers in my summer flower arrangements.
ReplyDeleteA cute plant and a clever name!
ReplyDeleteThe first house we had together had dichondra in the back yard instead of grass and it did very well!
ReplyDeleteHope you have good luck with it.
Ok, I grew up in Southern California with a dichondra lawn, but it never cascaded.
ReplyDeleteI'll stay tuned!
Cheers,
Sharon
The Dichondra is beautiful. I have seen it --but never knew what its name was. Can't wait to see it when it grows more...

Mine overwintered in the greenhouse. .but was looking pretty bad by April. .it is looking nice now, and I love the furry little leaves and the great color!! Hope yours behaves too!
ReplyDeleteI have the Silver Falls and just love it. You can truly plant it and forget about it and will be just fine.....wherever the runners touch, it will root there too. Easy peasy! Good choice.
ReplyDeleteI have heard of Silver Falls, but I have never seen it. I think I might have to get some. I like it!
ReplyDeleteI really like the leaves shaped like cups. I look forward to seeing that container in a few weeks.
