This gardener is inside enjoying the scent of this hyacinth.

Outside, winter has returned.
We've had snow, rain, sleet, wind and COLD.

The weekend is suppose to be warm.  Then, another cold snap forecast for next week.

Spring is paused here.
My plans to purchase bedding plants from my favorite greenhouse are on hold as well.

I hope you have spring in your garden!

  1. Had spring and now it is gone. It has turned cold and windy with a much needed rain. It should only last a few days then back to normal. I can not wait to see lilies!

  2. Weather is all over the place...yesterday and today 6 inches of rain. Tomorrow cold and maybe some snow flurries. I wonder if spring will come.
Your hyacinth is very pretty...I'll bet it smells heavenly.

  3. Very pretty photos. Sorry about your weather. We have had very warm temps (in the mid 80's this week) and the pollen has been very bad.

  5. Oh my gosh, I'm glad you've got some 'spring' indoors with your hyacinth. You're still having winter, we're having summer already.

Enjoy your day though ~ Love and hugs ~ FlowerLady

  6. Hi There, Love your hyacinth... Ours bloomed too early outside this year and the cold weather damaged the blooms... We had a few nice ones, but not too many. Maybe I need an 'inside' one also.

Rain and wind yesterday --and it's turned cold here today... Winter is definitely not finished with us yet...

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  7. I brought home hyacinths from the grocery store and they worked wonders at cheering me up. Hopefully spring will come soon. At least you have a vase full. :o)

  8. Oh, I wish I could smell it! We have had temps in the high 80's, then last night and the night before, it dropped back down to freezing!

  9. This is one lovely hyacinth! Sorry to read that winter has returned to your area. Hope he will finally withdraw soon. Here in Southern California today it feels more like summer than spring!

  10. We're having the same kind of weather you're having. I only wish we had a beautiful hyacinth like this one to enjoy. I love the color of your hyacinth, and the fragrance of all of them is marvelous.

  11. I have never tried growing hyacinth before and now I feel very tempted. I just for the first time tried growing hippeastrum bulb in water and they just flower.

  13. I have got to try this. Smart girl. Hyacinths are the best smelling flowers I know. I have them in my new part of my A bed.
