This pretty fellow checked out the water sources at Garden on Sherlock Street one hot afternoon.

  1. I always love seeing redbirds. For some reason they make me feel happy. I enjoy their singing too.

  2. I love cardinals in the garden -- especially on a snowy winter day -- the white, the snow!

  6. Lovely cardinal. Nothing like a birdbath to draw in our feathered visitors!

  7. I love to watch what goes on in a garden. I can sit outside here and watch all the different birds. Some come to the feeders and others just stop in to grab up a little spider or worm to take home to the babies. They're all on individual missions. Look a little longer and you realize how many beautiful butterflies there are. A garden really is alive with many things.

  8. I especially like the red cardinal next to the blue bloom. With the stone wall thrown in, it's a great contrast in colors and textures.

  9. Oh, my state bird. I've seen a lot cardinals & their mates in my backyard this season. The female's muted colors are quite interesting.
