Showing Off The Salvia

Our recent rains have spruced up the salvia along the driveway.  It is blooming like crazy.
Passersby have stopped if I'm in the garden to tell me how nice it looks.
People we know who drive past our home have commented on how it catches their eye when they pass.

This is the view of the salvia from the bench on the front patio.
There are some purple fountain grass containers sharing the view.

  1. The salvia is gorgeous! And your purple fountain grass is really doing well. I think I need you to give my stuff a good talking to!
We are under such severe drought this summer.I think my flowers need a hefty dose of good rain.

  2. Wow, your salvia is beautiful! What kind is it? My salvia is looking pretty ratty at the moment; I'd be happy if it looked even half as good as yours.

    1. I don't know what variety it is. Our amazing gardening neighbor gave me some to start and the rest is history.

  3. I always love seeing your salvia. The color is one of my favorites in a garden, and yours are just gorgeous. I'd be stopping by to say how wonderful it all is too if I lived nearby.

  4. The salvia looks wonderful! I find it grows very well here in south central Vriginia, too. It's easy care and drought resistant.

  9. The one you shared with me is doing well!! I got a couple starts from my mom too..thinking they would be the same. .hers are a lot darker purple and shorter. .not sure if that is because of their recent move to my house (in May) or if it is a different variety. .I also bought a couple red salvia plants from HCG in June. .they are doing very well. .but no blooms yet. .They will probably be a good share for your red bed!! I'll keep you posted!
