It Just Looks Perfect In There

So proud of the hackberry tree.
This year, it got its first bird's nest!

Last Plant Blooming

The leaves have all fallen off the trees and shrubs.  The flowers are all but gone.

One plant is still going strong.  This purple chrysanthemum.  It is always the last plant to bloom in the garden.  So nice to have a little splash of color!

Candy Roaster Squash

Here is the candy roaster squash harvest for the year.  Love the colors.

I got the seeds from a friend and gave them a try this year.  The vines wrapped everywhere!  The leaves were huge and the fruits even bigger.

I simply cut one in half, scooped out the seeds and roasted it in a pan under aluminum foil with a little water in the pan at 350 degrees for about an hour.  It came out super soft.  Simply scooped it out with a big spoon.  Tried a little honey on some and a little butter on some.  Both were great.  Next time, I think I'll bake one with brown sugar.

May Be The Last Of The Containers

This may be the last photo of the garden containers.
Tonight we're predicted to dip down into the teens.  Brrrr!

November Radishes

We've been having the nicest autumn.  The frosts have been light.
There is talk of colder weather tomorrow night though and maybe rain or snow.

The garden has slowly been finishing.  My autumn planting of lettuce isn't doing much, but I have radishes!!!

These are the sweetest radishes.  Not hot.  Just a lot of radish flavor.
