Tulips and Chocolate

The tulips are just putting on a show this spring.  Had to share these.

The last of my plant order arrived today.  Three chocolate plants.  Berlandiera lyrata Mora County Mix is what the tags say.  I added them to the bed off the patio which I planted a couple of weeks ago.

In other happy news, we got .40" of rain last night which put some water in the rain barrels and gave a lot of new plants a good drink.

Take care and enjoy spring!

  1. Oh how I love Tulips --but we have a hard time with them. First, the chipmunks dig up the bulbs and try to eat them--or move them.. Then, the deer love them too!!!! SO---we still have them --but have to work hard to keep them!!!! I haven't done a blog yet showing off some of our tulips.. I'll have to do that soon.

    Yours are FABULOUS.

  2. Glad you received some rain! The tulips are so pretty. Best wishes with the chocolate plants. You two enjoy the weekend.

  3. Those tulips sure pack a punch of color. How pretty after the long drab of winter!

  4. Your tulips are so pretty and cheery. I'll have to look up your chocolate plants.

Glad you got some much needed rain, we need some too, but not as badly as you.

  5. I love the color of your tulips!

  6. Your tulips are beautiful. I'm glad to hear you got a good rain. I hope you get many more.

  7. Those tulips are gorgeous! Are they returning and multiplying for you? How long have you had them?

I'm jealous of the rain. We still have gotten as much as 1/4" at any one time this spring. I'm craving a deep soaking rain for a day or two...but I'll take what I can get!

    1. Here's to more rain for all who need it!
I've had these tulips for years. I started with 6 bulbs. I think they're doing fine. I've never divided them. May need to soon I guess. Really should spread them around. They are Tulips 'Jimmy.'

  8. Stunning! I tell myself I don't care for tulips, but that always changes in April.

  9. Oh I love your tulips. What a gorgeous bright color they are. Sounds like you are geared up for gardening girl. LOL! Have a lovely weekend.

  10. I have never heard of a chocolate plant, will look forward to see it bloom. Love the tulips.
