The front garden is going through a major redo.  We redid the front walk about a month a go.

Lately, my wonderful husband and I have been prepping for a limestone wall along the street sidewalk.  These last few days, one of WH's brothers was available to help us do a dry stack wall.  The pieces were gathered from a few sources over a few years, and we've been storing them for the right time to redo the front garden.  This is the beginning of the end of the lawn.

There is a lot of dirt work to do and more limestone to strategically place, but the heavy lifting (literally) is done.  So glad WH's brother volunteered to help.  My rock lifting abilities are limited.  Watch for the transformation in tour photos over the coming months.  I can't wait to start planting in the area next year.

This was the front walk at Garden on Sherlock Street for about 18 years.  It was made of limestone rocks from my parents' farm.  It had been getting rough for a while, so we decided to make a change.

Here's my wonderful husband working over the sand bed after we dug all the rocks out of the walk.  The rocks will be used in other places in the garden.

We took a couple of days off work and most of last weekend to lay brick pavers instead.

Our pattern included a design with flowing lines.  WH did a great job of cutting the pavers.

Here it is complete!  Look for it in the next batch of tour photos coming soon.
