Happy New Year 2018

Hello and Happy New Year!  I hope this finds you well.  We are good at Garden on Sherlock Street. So many things going on that I just don't find time to post here as I once did.  Still a lot happening in the garden.  If you've been following the tour photos each month, you know we made a big change to the front garden last summer.  Scan back a bit and you will find individual posts about the project.  I am dreaming of the new plants I'll get to put in there, but I know there is more dirt work and a little more limestone construction waiting for us next spring first.  Then, the plants will go in gradually as we don't have the water resources to start a lot of new things at once.  As all gardens, it will evolve.  We just got a break from bitter cold weather.  Having two days in a row reach above freezing is a real treat.  Amazing how nice 35 degrees can feel after being below freezing for a long stretch with some nights below zero.  Brrrr!  Not that I want to be buried in snow, but we really need some moisture.  It is very dry.  Already high fire danger in our area.  Our holiday gatherings were good.  We enjoyed time with family and friends as well as a lot of good food.  Hope you enjoyed the season too.  Focusing on my houseplants currently and about to start planning next season's veggie garden.  I have the January tour photos almost ready to post.  Look for them soon.  Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Good to hear from you. I'm looking forward to seeing your revamped front garden. It does take time for a garden to evolve, but the process is so enjoyable.
